SureSeal Dripless Shaft Seals Upgraded for ‘07
Tides Marine, the marine industry leader in shaft seal technology, announces a product upgrade to the Sure Seal® line of drip-less drive shaft seals to begin in the fall of 2006. Current assemblies use a threaded insert and socket head cap screws. These fasteners do not affect the function of the seal assembly in service. Their purpose is to facilitate the installation of a spare lip seal when the original is worn. We have tested a new fastener, the Plastite® Trilobular™ thread forming screw for plastic. This screw eliminates the need for a metal insert, and makes lip seal change more trouble free. It also does not require a hex wrench, having a standard Philips head drive instead. While performance of the product will be slightly improved by the Trilobular™ technology, the current product has an outstanding durability record, and both are backed by the Tides Marine unmatched warranty.
